He married Mable Stover who had three grown sons and moved to Cleve land, Cuyahoga, Ohio where he worked in the Fisher Body Plant. He mov ed back to Cowan, Webster, West Virginia after his retirement.

He was a coal miner and blacksmith. He died with kidney disease.
