Entry STAND

The servers line up in the sacristy as shown in Figure I. The First Thurifer rings the bell, and the servers walk with the priest to the foot of the altar and genuflect. See Figure I

The servers then go to their standard positions approximately via the routes indicated by the dashed lines in Figure II. The acolytes put the candles on the corners of the credence table and then take their positions. The servers should end up in the final positions shown in Figure II.

The Asperges STAND

All of the servers except the MC remain standing in the positions shown in Figure II. The MC walks with the priest as he sprinkles the people with holy water. The MC comes back to the foot of the altar and kneels until the end of the Asperges. At the conclusion, he stands, genuflects with the priest, hands the holy water font and the card to the First Thurifer, and assists the priest in putting on the maniple and the chasible in the positions shown in Figure III.

As the priest changes vestments, the First Thurifer takes the water font into the sacristy and brings the thurible and the incense out with him. He then gives the incense to the Second Thurifer.
