Valentines Day Manure

Tom and I are having some Valentines Day champagne -- each of us staring at our monitors, our backs to each other. Romantic, huh? I did put a rose petal on his keyboard earlier. I like the way the office is arranged now. Both of us can sit at our desk without bumping our chairs into each other or sitting at an angle.

We did some yard work today. Tom did most of it while I tried to take a nap. He finished digging up the veggie garden area; he did over twice the digging I did in less than half the time. Now I have a complex. He also cut the dead branches off of the legustrums and trimmed the trees a bit. I carried water out front to water all of the little pansies, violets and snapdraggons. Our house doesn't have a water hydrant in the front, for some reason and it seemed easier to schlep water than to fiddle with hooking up the hose in the back and dragging it around the house.

Then, we took off to the neighborhood Home Depot and got some boards and dirt to make the raised bed. We got a laugh over it. "Tom, what did you get your wife for Valentines Day?" "I got her some manure." (I also got a heart shaped box of candy). I fondled the fountains and garden urns and sniffed the magnolias. I didn't know magnolias came in purple; I always thought of magnolias being white. I don't know why they are blooming in February, either.

I've been sort of crabby today with wanting cigarettes all the time. Both of us cheated.

Tia's doggy bag made us a good brunch. We went out to Wendy's and had a hamburger for dinner.

Then home for the champagne . . .
