Bunny Slippers
The cable was still not working this morning, so I called the repair folks. They ended up running a new cable from the alley to the house. Everything tested fine in the house; everything tested fine in the alley, but there was a problem somewhere in between. He didn't bury the new cable but will send someone out to take care of that later. At least we have reception again and we had it in time for me to watch my soap opera. Now THAT'S important.
I started digging the bed for the mums; Tom soon took over for me. He sure is a faster (and better) digger than I am. We also discovered that Jason's little hole was what happened to the cable. We had managed to pick the exact spot where the cable was buried to start our bed.
Later in the day, I drove over and got Daniel and we headed north to McKinney to see
Katie's art exhibit. Her school hosted an exhibition featuring her work so we were very excited to go see it. She is quite talented and had a variety of things on display (mostly dragon art). There were drawings and sketches, sculpture, even a stool that she made. Of course, the first thing I noticed was a sketch of Daniel. She's done some interesting kiln work; one of my favorites was a dragon teapot. I wasn't feeling well, but am glad I decided to make the trip.
Afterwards, we stopped by their house to ohh and ahh over their cable modem Internet access and pick up some things Dede saved from a garage sale for me. I'm now the proud owner of some bunny slippers. She also gave me a Claude Monet print from the Kimbell Art Museum, Weeping Willows. I need to find a suitable frame for it.
