A Journal of Sorts

Mr. Squirrel

Today marked the day of the absolute worst head cold I've ever had! I didn't even KNOW that a head cold could be so awful. I had such plans for today, about 10 different errands to run, but by the time I had picked up Jason's Ritalin prescription and dropped it off at the drug store, I just couldn't do any more. I came home and went to bed.

That's where I stayed most of the day, although I did make a brief foray out front to getMr Squirrel the mail and smoke a cigarette. (I've never been too sick to smoke). Mr. Squirrel has taken over the bird feeder out front. I believe he waits for me to fill it so that he can go dump it on the ground and have a heyday with all that great seed. He's not a very shy guy either; he doesn't even get nervous unless you get within about 3 feet of him.

Tom made dinner for me. He baked some pork chops and cooked a mixture of long grain and wild rice. It was good, although my taste buds are suffering as they do when you can't breathe. I couldn't taste the wine, either. Even Jason had seconds on the rice.

Jason got in trouble at school today. I'm not sure about the whole story because I was too miserable to pay attention when his principle called me. I know he had his shoes off in class and refused to put them back on. He also made some inappropriate comments to his teacher. I feel partially responsible for his bad day since he was out of Ritalin. He seems to behave much better when he is taking his medication.

Today was our wedding anniversary. Four months today.
