Texas Virgin
I heard from Stacy this morning. She is the girl who always contacts me from Regency, my dream job place. That gal is always so cheerful. I think she's funny, but this morning, she told me I was funny. I remember our first contact; she was giving me directions for my first interview. I asked her whether they were on the east or west side of the street. She told me that if I'm coming from the north, they are on the east side. If I go to work there, I will be sure to tease her about it. This is the 4th interview now, so I assume they are serious. They don't seem like the sort of place that has tons of time to waste.

I got a picture of the ladybug this morning before it flew away! I was out doing my garden/yard check and saw it there in the pansies. Nothing really NEW out there today. I planted some morning glory seeds around the mailbox, the bird feeder and the north fence. The forecast says we have 100% chance of big thunderstorms today and tomorrow, so I decided to wait to plant the smaller seeds.

Jason reminded me yesterday that we are supposed to go camping this weekend. Bad weather again, but I'm looking forward to it anyway. We have to go to a wedding on Saturday, so will have to be unmuddied enough to do that. It is at 3:00 in the afternoon just a few miles from where we plan to camp. I might just wait til Saturday morning to go up there because it is easier to spot an unflooded place to pitch a tent in the daylight.

I still haven't been able to find my new bird in any of the bird books that I have laying around. I suppose I'll be making another trip to the library to see what I can find. It is a small bird, smaller than a sparrow. Its head and chest are a very pale orange and the rest of it is sort of beige looking.
I was, however, able to find both of the clematis from Hank's yard. Both of them are listed in Lady Bird Johnson's Texas Wildflowers. One of them is called Leatherflower and the other is Texas Virgin's Bower, Old Man's Beard, or Goat's Beard. Hank just calls them by the name of the counties where he dug them up.

This interviewing stuff is getting old and I'm certainly running out of things to wear. |
