An anniversary

Tom and I have been married for five months now. It is still hard for me to believe I'm married. I would have sworn that I'd be happily single for the rest of my life, even if you had asked me a few years ago. The thought of merging my life with someone else's just seemed a task that I wouldn't be willing to take on. I had just about removed the concept of compromise from my thought processes. Doing everything MY way, was, after all, easier.

I'll write a testimonial on how wonderful it is to be married to Tom in some other entry when I'm feeling especially schmaltzy.

John did a Real Audio clip of his entry today -- reading one of his poems. His voice is so romantic sounding to me -- much, MUCH nicer than a southern drawl.

The Long One, our pet(?) rattlesnake is out on maneuvers a lot lately. That's what we call it when he is roving around in his cage instead of just curled up in the corner of it. He is getting pretty big, well past the hat band size and moving up to belt size. He spends so much time pushing at the top of the cage that I wonder if I'm going to find him maneuvered into my lap one of these days. I'll add new meaning to the words panic attack when that happens.

He is awfully pretty though. I'll have to invite Mary over to see if he is, indeed, a HE. I will let ~her~ hold him while I look in his flap. She described the process quite nicely in one of her entries earlier this year. SHE can hold a snake between her toes.

This is my first day on Diary-L. Now, I never have to worry about getting e-mail. I get e-mail, lots and lots of e-mail.

I've also become quite a statistics junkie. Several times a day, I have to sit here and check my stats to see how many hits my page has gotten and where they came from. The Infinities Counter seems to give the best list of hits, but it drives me nuts with the count. The count seems to have very little to do with the number of hits. I've had it go up 1200 in one day and have found it at zero a time or two.

I'm working on a cast page and I've applied to a web ring. I also got e-mail from someone bitching because I didn't update my page as I should. I have a relatively long list of journals that I have to check every day for new entries.

All in all, I'm displaying many of the symptoms of your typical on-line journalist. All I need to do now is learn to write.
