A Journal of Sorts |
Tuesday, 13 April 1999Police blotterI submitted the baby story to Over the Gate this morning. I've heard back from John already saying, "Its a YES." An interesting thought, a story I wrote being accepted. I can't help but giggle about it since I've never considered myself to be a writer and now I'm going to be ~published~ and everything. I guess I should work on the next one. A girl named Clara inspired me to send the baby one; looking at old photos is the inspiration to send the next one.I found a funny website today -- it's the Moab Police Blotter from Moab, Utah. Who ever said the police have ~no~ sense of humor? An excerpt from January 24th:
Oh, free pot! I'm on my way. I took a little time today to work on some sort of time management system. I put off implementing it until tomorrow, though. (snicker) It has always been difficult for me to find the time to accomplish all the tasks that I set out for myself, especially at work. Last year, at work, I started using the Outlook task manager and it helped. Not only did it help me allocate time, but it also helped me to prioritize tasks. So, I've started putting some of my household tasks in Schedule Plus and have also allocated a finite(?) time to spend on said tasks. (Gawd, I amuse myself sometimes). So, now I'm going from task to task with the kitchen timer at my side. For the starter list, I've left LOTS of free time between so that when I stumble across one of those things that have to be done before you can do the thing you set out to do I can work it in. Oh no! I forgot to schedule time for e-mail and journal entries! The soil has been turned now where the new veggies and herbs are going to go. I didn't actually plant anything, though, because it looks like it is going to rain and I'm not sure the babies and seeds would survive a gully washer. There are buds on BOTH of the new rose bushes. *smile* |
