Our peas

They could see she was a real princess and no question about it, now that she had felt one pea all the way through twenty mattresses and twenty more featherbeds. Nobody but a princess could be so delicate.

Heart-y Rice

Cool! My picture is color coordinated with my sidebar! (for most of us, anyway) That is a picture of one of the peapods I harvested today. I'm totally thrilled with myself. There's something way neat about eating produce from your own backyard.

I learned a new term today, ego-surfing. That is when you search for your own name using Internet search engines. The minute I heard the term, I went ego-surfing. I was quite disappointed when the only thing I turned up was this journal. Some of the others on the list at least shared their names with interesting people.

I searched again with my before I-got-married name and actually found some interesting stuff. Carole Golds are all over the place. Here's a list:

  • Carole Gold wrote a book about how to get off welfare and into the job market.
  • Perhaps the most notorious, Carole Gold, an ex Playboy bunny is serving a life sentence for killing her husband.
  • Yet another Carole Gold writes art history books, articles and text books.
  • An obit in the 12/24/98 Detroit paper mentioned (I assume) another.
  • Carole Gold is mentioned in Women's Business Network as president of Roygold Marketing Systems, Ltd.
  • An on-line metaphysical bookstore offers, Call to Connection: Bringing Sacred Tribal Values to Modern Life, by Carole Gold
  • There's an interview at amazon.com with Carole Gold, the author of You Can Be Your Own Sex Therapist
  • (my least favorite Carole Gold hit) There was a hit that led to what was called "a high quality sex site". I went there and couldn't get out. The back button of my browser simply took me to another page as did clicking the close X. sheesh.

Some of the authoring seems nice enough. I wouldn't mind being a writer, but the rest I can do without. All in all, I'm glad I changed my name. *smile*

I am simply all over myself with excitement right now. I just got e-mail from Ginkgo saying that she liked my new design -- that is is gorgeous, even. In my opinion, her journal, Dreaming Among the Jade Clouds is one of the snazziest out there. I'll be floating around for awhile on that compliment.

My second happy dance of the day came when Ginkgo wrote to me again and invited me to join the Mandelbrot Set Webring. Now, I may never come down.

Tom worked late this evening, so I had a little extra time -- A GOOD thing since I absolutely had to put the Mandelbrot Set links on my index page before I could do ANYTHING else. As it turned out, dinner was ready when he got home.

We had chicken and rice with fresh peas. *smile*

I thought I couldn't BE more content, but I could. He told me I made the very best fried chicken, then he made a heart out of his rice and gravy and turned his plate to me with a love smile touching his lips.

I moved beyond content.
