Odds and Ends
I've been laughing since last night. Tom came home from work with the funniest story . . .
After he added some new products to his website, he decided to send an e-mail announcement to his customer list. It took him a good long while to get all the mail out since he's using a mailer that doesn't do groups. Deciding that there must be an easier way, he got on the Internet and did a search for mailing list software . .sure enough, he found something and downloaded it.
I got e-mail from him mid-afternoon:
My precious!
This mail is from my new mailing list
program.
I love you my darling, wonderful wife.

I wrote back something like, "Cool" and all the mushy stuff. A few minutes later, my mail came back to me. Hmmm . . wrote back and asked if he had intentionally sent my mail back to me. Nope, his list was unintentionally set up as an interactive list.
He was so excited about his mailing list software that he didn't waste any time setting it up, even though he had nothing to send. He exported his address book from his mailer and imported it into his list software. At some point, since he was using his 'regular' e-mail address in the list software, it polled his mail server and picked up a bit of his personal mail, too.
What was so totally funny to me was that when he logged on to the Internet late that afternoon to check his mail again, the mailing list software started sending all of his messages out to his list! He said that it flustered him and he couldn't think of what to do so he just turned his computer off.
So maybe a few hundred priests got a copy of our love notes.

We seem to have a sunflower tradition, if you can have a tradition after a couple of years. We don't mow over the first sunflower (weed) of the season; we let it grow.
Last year, it was in the flowerbed around the baby red oak tree. It grew to about five feet. The first bloom was about 9 inches across. When it went to seed, the birds had a wonderful time with it.
This year, the birds planted a slightly different plant. There aren't nearly so many petals, about half, I'd say. The plant itself is a midget four feet or so and the main flower is about six inches across. Still, it is our pet sunflower and we love it.

Daniel started an on-line journal. I'm excited.

Katie put her web pages out on Geocities. Maybe this will inspire me to update my links page. It is in terrible shape.

I am now the proud owner of a little stuffed Taco Bell dog, a gift from Jason.
