Eric and Cricket

They keep each other well occupied and I sit out there with a break my face grin while I'm watching them.

Eric and Cricket

I learned something new about my camera today. It has filters on it. This morning, I noticed the button and wondering what it was for, I pushed it. (what, read the manual?) Looking at the display, I saw that it had changed the picture, similar to some of the stuff you do with PhotoShop or something. So, I pushed the button again and the picture went to a negative image.

Cool, I thought . .something to play with. But, I wasn't in the mood to play at the moment because I didn't want to miss my window of opportunity with Cricket and Eric and good lighting so I pressed it again and it went back to normal . .or so I thought. Was I ever surprised to find half of my photos were not in color!

Eric was up this morning before I was. The first thing I noticed was that the cartoons were on in stereo, one TV in his room and the other in the living room. The second thing I noticed was that he had decided to have a pickle sandwich for breakfast -- there was a package of hamburger buns and a jar of pickles open. Eric, however, was not visible.

After grabbing my coffee and a cigarette, I went out back for my morning sit and there he was, playing squeak-bone throw with Cricket. They were both having a swell time, but I must admit, I felt a few pangs of jealousy when Cricket didn't even acknowledge my presence.

You see, Cricket is my love dog. When I'm out there he (used to) completely ignore everyone else. It didn't matter how much Daniel or even Tom called to him, he would come to me. If they threw his squeak toys for him to retrieve, he would bring them right back to ME. I was the only one he would play tug of war with.

But, today, he was completely ignoring me, giving me his best doggy cold shoulder. Eric was KING and my love dog wouldn't even look my way when I called him.

Sniff, sniff.

I've been writing in a different editor that Doug of Nilknarf News gave me to try and I think I love it. It has an HTML checker in it and I love clicking the big H and seeing the No errors or warnings message. Not that I always get that particular message.

Another thing I like about it is that you can toggle on line numbers, a handy feature with any HTML checking thing you might use. I'd been using my old mainframe editor so I could get the line numbers.

But it doesn't bark at me when I start it up like HotDog did. I suppose one can't have everything.
