I Have Nutella
There was lots of conversation on the journal list yesterday about
snack food. I think Al posted
a question about what we eat while writing our entries. It was the first
time I had ever heard of Nutella. It got rave reviews from several
people. Tom had never heard of it either
and his internet search turned up some recipes, but nothing else.
Today, after work, I stopped at the store and did a quick search and
found some. It is pretty good stuff, if you like chocolate. The picture
on the label shows it spread on a piece of bread. That sounds pretty gross
to me, but I guess I need to try it. It is good out of the jar and
spread on cookies, though.

I managed to get through another day at WORK. There is supposed to
be a test of some sort next Wednesday. The better we all do on the
test, the better our chances of getting to pick whatever shift we
want to work. So, it looks like there is a very good chance I'll be
able to arrange my schedule so that I can find a real job.
An interesting thing, though. When I got home this evening, I had
a voice mail from the HR person at the department store where I
interviewed
a few weeks ago. I have a feeling that it just might be an offer
in the works. That would be nice.
Although it is back on the mainframe, I would expect the offer to
be about 20K higher than the job I'm currently on. The benefits
are nearly excellent and the company is listed in the top 50 on the
great places to work list.
Of course, I suppose it could be that they are just calling me to
tell me that they have hired someone else.

Tom remembered to bring the mace home tonight. One of the missing
entries this month talks about how he managed to get hit on the
back of the head with a mace. It isn't a weapon mace, but a
processional mace used in some churches. Nevertheless, it is
very heavy and not something you want bonking down on your head.
It was such an experience that he
made a
webpage with a picture and everything. The gash in his
head probably could have used some stitches, but he wasn't all
that concerned about cosmetics since he has hair there.
It is healing nicely.
