The cyclamin

I'm so impressed with Tom's magic touch with the house plants. I've never been able to keep a cyclamen living, let alone blooming.

Factiousness by Lamechians

A rant

My goal of helping my offspring along the way to independence is often fraught with obstacles. I'm somewhat annoyed with Ed tonight. For the longest time, he seemed to be holding Daniel's car hostage and we had finally worked how how to get it restored to Daniel's possession. Or so I thought. Come to find out, an hour or so before I was going to go bail it out of the shop, he didn't keep the insurance on it. Our arrangement was that he would keep the insurance on it for a few weeks to enable Daniel to come up with the money for it. This was after Ed put the car in the shop and racked up a $400.00 repair bill -- not that the car didn't need repairs, but they weren't critical to the operation or safety of the car -- and the financial burden is somewhat unfair for someone of Daniel's income, especially when he isn't consulted beforehand.

So, I didn't go get his car tonight. It will be a little while before he can get the insurance. I know it must be frustrating for him. It is for me.

I've created a good group of Harry Potter fans and think it is really, truly cool to sit around discussing the books the plot, the characters, etc. The problem is, we only have one of the fourth book to read, so we have to take turns. That means that we have to be careful what we say so we don't give any spoilers.

What is making me crazy now is that my buddy at work (Jeannette) is reading it now and I'm sooooooo anxious for her to get to a certain surprise part in the book so we can talk about it. Last night, she got to the PAGE BEFORE and then put it down. Oh, it is so hard for me to not say anything.

I just had to go defend the honor of Nutella. Teresa and Rodney were eating some vanilla ice cream and Rodney wanted to know if I had any chocolate syrup. I told them to use Nutella, to which Teresa replied, "yech". Not nice!!! I had to go in there and shove a spoonful in Rodney's mouth so he wouldn't be put off by Teresa's attitude. Some people just have no taste.

Rodney liked it . .

Tentative plans for the upcoming weekend:

  1. Get my brake lights working and get the van inspected.
  2. Go see the new Pokemon movie will all of my offspring.
  3. Do the walkthough on Teresa's new apartment
  4. Take advantage of an employee's shopping night where I work
  5. Go to mass.
  6. Get Jason to work and back.
