a flower I have no idea what this flower is. If anyone recognizes it, let me know. All I know is that it is some sort of perennial. I have them in other colors, too.

Teresa is moving into her new apartment. Unfortunately, she's in a situation where she has nothing but the clothes they were wearing (nearly), so it is interesting seeing the stuff we are collecting to furnish and otherwise make it liveable. I really like it; the windows are nice and it is well laid out.

I'm giving away the waterbed, though. That is traumatic. When Tom and I married, I gave up my big waterbed as he seemed to have a strong dislike for it. *smile* I kept the other one, though, and would go lay in it for weekend naps, just to feel all luxurious from time to time. Oh well.

At least, work is having one of their semi-annual 40% off sales (employees only) so I was able to score a daybed to fill in the gap. I need something for when Jason is here and also somewhere for Dad to sleep when he is here.

I think after Teresa gets situated, I'll rest for a few weeks and then get back to my household projects, like finishing the painting that I started nearly two years ago.

Daniel's car is now insured, so we'll be going to bail it out of the shop tomorrow. I keep trying to talk him into remaining a child - his biological clock seems to be telling him otherwise. I've been parenting for over thirty-three years now. Those years are drawing to an end, though. Jason is fifteen now . . Some transitions are easier than others.

I'm nearly finished reading Swimming in the Volcano by Bob Shacochis. It is a book that Tommy loaned me. Like most of the books Tommy loans me, it is very highbrow and somewhat depressing. I'm thinking that highbrow and depressing probably go together.

Another book I'm reading (and am liable to be reading for a very long time) is Godel, Escher, Bach: an Eternal Golden Braid by Douglas R. Hofstadter. This one, I think, is way beyond highbrow, but I'm determined to plug through it. It will give me something to brag about, if nothing else. I can get a t-shirt.

The last book I'm reading is much more interesting. The Catechism of the Catholic Church. It would be interesting reading just as a book, but I'm intending to convert one of these days. I am comfortable enough with it so far.

Only 83 days until we go camping. Ahh . . I love the Ozarks in the Autumn.
