The Long One

The Long One was smiling pretty for Tom's camera.

Sand Shrew

It was actually COOL outside this morning. Probably the first morning that I could actually feel that Fall is coming. The gusts of wind weren't stirring any leaves, though, just trying to stir up some goose bumps.

It would have been a perfect morning for my seed planting frenzy in the front flower bed -- except for the wind. I have a hard time planting teensy seeds in the wind. Actually, they aren't hard to plant that way, but they are hard to plant where I intend for them to be.

Daniel is in here talking to Katie on the phone. They have such interesting conversations. Like, "I've been disenhearted since I found out that most of my clan is dead." pause "After all, what did the Ravnos ever do to them?" longer pause "You should be giving this lecture to my mother. Have you seen how long it has been since she updated?"

(I had just received the update lecture from Katie.)

Jason and I watched several episodes of Pokemon this morning. I seem to have joined with millions of Poke-crazed kids and teens around the world in their worship of the cute electric mouse, Pikachu.

I was a little jealous of the kids at last weekend's family gathering. They had Pokecards and didn't seem to want to play with me.

The Long One does NOT like Pikachu. Long has become quite tame (tame like a rattlesnake?) lately and will rarely rattle. Every time Pikachu comes in the room, Long One starts rattling and rattles more the closer he gets. Poor Pikachu.

Do you have any trouble saying this phrase, "Strength trained sand shrews" aloud? I sure did when it came up in a Pokemon conversation.

I'm still doing the training thing at work. Next week will be my sixth week and then my buddies and I will go to our separate jobs for another six weeks of training.

It has been interesting, going through training for their jobs. It is stuff I probably wouldn't have taken the time to learn on my own and something that I may not have been exposed to otherwise. For the past week, I've been taking technical calls on the WAN. It has been really fun. A LOT more fun than when we all worked the Help Desk for a few days.

As much as I am going to miss working with Dan and Bishop every day, I'm truly looking forward to finally moving into my familiar territory at work.
