Lazy Day
I've had such a wonderfully lazy morning. I didn't get up until
nearly 7AM, but surprise of surprises, I got up before
Tom! I suppose 7 is a good average time,
considering our premarried get up times. He was up around 4AM and I was up
around 10AM. (Yes, I had even changed the business hours of my store
so I could sleep late).
This morning, I made the coffee. I was in the process
of getting an ice cube for mine and milk for Tom's when I saw his feet
appear from the bottom of the refrigerator door.
It was a coolish
morning, and good to be out just at the beginning of dawn instead of
our usual predawn sits. Our conversation, as it does
most mornings, wrapped around various topics, turning back on itself from
time to time. We talked about maps; we talked about work. We talked
about camping and birds and roses.
We heard the mockingbirds wake up, singing their morning songs and
best of all . . .
The coffee was really GOOD this morning!

I got caught up reading my mailing list journals and thought, for the
zillionth time, that I need to make an html-ized list of my
other favorite journals so I don't have to look all over the place for
the url. *sigh* Someday . . . .
I also got caught up on the diary-l postings. My re-subscribe is only
a week old now, but already I'm caught up in the free-for-all nature
of the list. I've discovered that Writer's Digest has an
article about on-line journalers that features several of my regular
reads. Rob's
October 14th entry has a photo of it.
Now I have to go out and get my very
own copy of it.
I did some
general surfing while flipping through two of my favorite catalogs,
Plow and Hearth and the Jackson and Perkins catalog. I can
spend thousands of dollars in my mind whenever I'm browsing these two
catalogs. I suppose I can do that in any catalog, now that I think
about it.
There is one thing, a dancing frog birdbath, that I'm not sure I
will be able to live without. It is your traditional scalloped
edge birdbath, but it has three frogs dancing in the middle of it
(looks like they are hugging) and a dragonfly buzzing over their
heads. It is way to adorable for me to do without for very long.
The birdbath I have now is a white plastic thing that I got about
fifteen years ago for around ten dollars. It still works fine,
but I won't feel bad about giving it an early retirement if anyone
reading this wants to get me a dancing frog birdbath for
Christmas. (hint hint)

I've gotten e-mail from
Carol, Mary,
Georgina, and Fiona wondering if I'm ok since
I haven't been updating much. It sure makes me feel special . .
I haven't intentionally stopped updating. I just don't have a good
handle on this time management thing yet. I probably just have
my priorities out of whack.
