There's not much difference between acting and role playing. The most important lies in the level of fame and the gains therein. A person playing a dwarf in the kitchen does so for free but can make fun of the friend who plays the elf. A person playing a dwarf in a movie gets paid for it and doesn't feel as bad when the elf slaps him silly.
