Shambhala Training Level Four:
Awakened Heart
"So the
first step
in realizing
basic goodness is to
appreciate what we have, what we are, where we are, who we are, when we
are, and how we are as human beings... An awakened heart comes from
being willing to face our state of mind. Through the practice of
sitting still and following your breath, as it goes out and dissolves,
you are connecting with your heart. By simply letting yourself be, as
you are, you develop genuine sympathy towards yourself."
Chögyam Trungpa
Rinpoche,
"Shambhala: The Sacred Path of
the Warrior"
Prerequisite: Completion of Level Three.
In Awakened Heart we explore how we might enter
the
world in an open and vulnerable way to let the world touch our heart
and our heart wake up to the touch. We encounter the world with clear
perception, freed of our conventional ways of thinking and
experiencing.
The weekend includes meditation instruction, sitting
meditation, talks on the Shambhala teachings, discussion groups and
private interviews with a meditation instructor.
