Tour 2000 Ends

Ringo Starr and His All Starr Band toured the U.S. from May 12 to July 1, 2000. The band members included guitarist Dave Edmunds, drummer Simon Kirke, keyboardest Eric Carmen, bassist Jack Bruce and the multi-talented musician Mark Rivera.
This year's tour was sponsored by Century21, which had an excellent website that includes biographical information, tour schedule, photographs, and announcements of a charity auction and online chat sessions.

Ringo Interview Published

The June 19 edition of US Weekly (with Whitney Houston on the cover) has a lengthy interview with Ringo conducted before the tour started. It includes questions about the Beatle years, meeting Barbara and becoming a grandfather for the second time.

A news conference announcing the Connections Tour 2000 was held May 1 and broadcast live over the Internet. That news conference is available at Centerseat but is best seen during the evening or early morning, when traffic on the Internet is not so heavy.

Ringo held hour-long chat sessions on the Internet on May 7 and June 2. Check the Century 21 site for transcripts of the sessions.

A Century 21 commercial featuring Ringo began airing on May 15 on The Today Show. The commercial, shown twice at the May 1 news conference, shows Ringo during two humorous interludes -- once as an entertainment for a pair of new homebuyers and a second time as the couple leafs through a photo album with Ringo looking on and remarking to the wife "that must have been a bad-hair day."

The Ringo and His All Starr Band Connections Tour 2000 began May 12 in Atlantic City, N. J., and ends July 1 in Milwaukee, Wis. The musicians for this year's All Starr Band will be Eric Carmen, Dave Edmonds, Jack Bruce, Simon Kirke and Mark Rivera.

Ringo was a guest on The Late Show with David Letterman on May 19.

Ringo was a guest on Good Morning America on May 23 and 24.
