Greetings! My name is Janada (sounds like Canada) (just don't make me have to shoot you for calling me Annie...) Oakley. >;-)

I worked as an Armed Security Officer for 6 years in Dallas, after living in Bakersfield CA for 13 years. I liked the job (in spite of the weather I often had to deal with), but it was the only way I could legally carry a gun when I moved to TX. Thankfully, our ex-Governor, whom I miss already (and now President, YEAH!!) George Bush, kept his word and signed the Concealed Carry Bill just as he promised he would. I then became a Concealed Handgun License instuctor for 2 years, but there's just not really a lot of money in it.

While I was working Security I got into computers, doing bbs mail in my car between my hourly rounds,
beginning with an 8086 laptop and continuously buying a better one as they got cheaper. By the time I'd worked my way up to a Pentium 200 I'd been through 8 laptops. I ended up learning lots of various programs along the way too (those 12-hour long night shifts could get really boring), so when I got an offer to work in an office in downtown Dallas with flexible hours paying twice what I got doing Security, I couldn't pass it up. Besides, I get to keep a gun in my desk.

My other interests include going to the gun range (naturally), painting, reading cop and spy novels (I like the Remo Williams series too) and I love playing computer games like Duke Nuke 'em, Half-life, Unreal, Quake, Redneck Rampage, and Star Trek.

I'm also a huge fan of action (especially martial arts), horror and all Sci-fi, even the "b" movies.  So I really enjoyed my recent trip to England [pictures soon to be added] and going to Oakley Castle. Yeah, same name, same area my folks were probably run out of long ago. Anyway, it's next to  Bray studios (home of Hammer films) and it was run-down and deserted for quite awhile before they turned it into a really nice resort hotel. During that time they filmed over 200 films there, like "The Rocky Horror Picture Show", "Murder by Death", and just about any other scary movie with Peter Cushing and Christopher Lee in it.

I also went to London, which was cool, and took the Chunnel (that train is FAST!) to Paris, and well, everything they say about the French is true. For the rest of my life, when things get really bad, I will always be able to tell myself "Well, at least I'm not in Paris!"

I belong to GOA, Second Amendment Foundation, the Citizen's Committee for the Right to Keep and Bear Arms and NRA. They all have their strengths and weaknesses
but most importantly--they ALL are fighting for OUR gun rights!! I highly
recommend you find the one you like best and join one...or two...or more...

How did all this come about? Several years ago I was like most people and thought if I didn't bother with the government, it wouldn't bother me. Sadly, there is more and more proof each day that this isn't true. Our Second Amendment Rights (along with other rights) are being eroded each day due to ILLEGAL legislation. Don't take my word for it, learn like I did. check it out, you owe it to yourself and those you care about. There really IS a difference between being paranoid and being informed!
