New Zealand has often been named the most beautiful country in the world. As an expatriate New Zealander, born and bred there, but widely travelled, of course I would have to agree (no bias of course!). The scenery, fresh food, fine wines, clean environment, glorious beaches, friendliness of the people and a great climate make it a wonderful place to visit or live. A former colony of England, New Zealand retains a lot of its English heritage, but there are many other cultural influences. It is truly a melting pot for the world!
Popular New Zealand cartoonist, Murray Ball, is the creator of Footrot Flats, about the life of a dog and his friends in rural New Zealand.

Now here's a chance to mention some of my favourite foods (constantly missed and desired) . Feijoas, passionfruit, fish and chips, fresh cream cakes, fresh seafood, Anchor butter, Whitlocks Tomato Chutney, Twisties, savouries, sausage rolls and meat pies. Needless to say, last time I went home I gained half a stone in weight (about 8 pounds)!
Television programming is very international. My personal favourites are the British comedies such as Black Adder , The Young Ones, and French and Saunders.
