Magnifying Glasses
Obviously these are great for looking at insects, fingerprints or almost anything else but you can really have a ball with a pair. Put one glass at arm's length. Close one eye and move the other glass back and forth until you can focus the lenses like a simple telescope. Use them in pairs with lamps and projectors to focus images.
