Beach Pictures:


First the students turn the paper sideways, horizontal on the 11" side, and  draw a horizontal line the length of the page about in the middle to show the horizon of sea and sky. Color the sky above the line. Then students spread the glue without wasting too much under the line and then pour small amounts of sand over the glue until it looks like sandpaper. They can continue to repeat adding glue and more sand. Then glue some cotton in the sky for clouds, and macaroni shells on the sand. Students can choose to draw and cut other items like treasure chests, palm trees etc..
