Indoor/outdoor thermometers

These can bought at any hardware store for about $10 to $12. Usually it is purchased to be mounted on the wall with a probe that is placed outside a window. But don't mount it in your class permanently because there are two easy uses in centers. Students can cover the probe with a part of their body (like the inside of the elbow) and see the outdoor bulb warm up. These are also fun when you put the probe in a bucket of ice.
