The first objective is self-esteem, that students find something they can do well and have that skill featured and noticed by their peers.
Other objectives include the appreciation of creativity, because it is clear in the following years that students who are comfortable in creative thinking and who are familiar with it are noticeably better in problem solving since they continue searching for answers and use alternative possibilities to attempt to solve problems. Students who are comfortable with creative tasks are more likely to persevere in problem solving in later grades.
The reading objectives (L-10c, L-10d) are meant to support classroom instruction since students use clues in the letters to find they links in which they are interested.
