Text Box: Our elders lifted the special prayer needs of those called to our attention: Charles Lee is in Rm. 309 at Doctor's for physical therapy and rehabilitation; Ray Bratton is recuperating at home following a severe accident at work this past week; Marie's niece, Annie Burns fell at home this past week; Eddie's daughter - in - law Joan will be having surgery soon; Deborah T. Stribling is receiving treatment for her infections Kathleen Alexander continues to have chemotherapy at Presbyterian; and finally during worship, we learned that Raymond Smithart's Dad will have his bypass surgery on May 4th. We encourage you to left all the prayer needs listed in both your bulletin & newsletter. Our beautiful bulletins were given in memory of Helen's Dad & Husband, John Letkeiwicz Sr.,. and A. Wayne Smith . Thank you Helen and family for the lovely contribution to our service. Laura opened our worship service, and the choir was the leader for our call to worship. We continued with the Old Testament scripture of Amos 9:11 - 15, and children's moment with Patrick, asking the question, "do you know what your name means?". Mike surely did know his, just ask him! Dwight's solo of "Unfailing Love" was most inspirational, and led right into the gospel of I Corinthians 15:1 - 9, and Mike's message of "Most to be Pitied", with him asking of us our most important thoughts of belief and faith. How did you answer? We broke bread together and adjourned to the overflow room for refreshments by the Smith-Smithart family. Our Leadership Training Committee met with Patrick for his final meeting of his senior year of internship with us, and is looking forward to getting responses from some of his prospective leads for service following graduation, which will be on Saturday May 13th at 3pm in the Daniel Meyer Coliseum in Fort Worth on the T C U campus. The committee will honor him with after church fellowship on Sunday May 21st. Remember that next Sunday we'll be having an all - pot - luck lunch in Fellowship Hall immediately following morning worship honoring our volunteer custodian for the last couple of years, Charles Kramer Chaffin. That's a lot of sweepin', moppin' and runnin' the sweeper for the last two years! Thanks C K ! You're a champ!
