Blood Brother Standing at the brook Babbling as it wanders Along the path of its winding Creek bottom singing as it goes along Together we two stand Here about to make our vows Of brother - sister bond We are about to share The shaman stands before us The knife in his hand Ready for us to make The cut for our bonding It is a symbol of our faith In each other as we stand Ready to become related Our paths forever joined What was once apart Will now be united Forever in sacrifice In a bonding sacred and true Great Spirit we beseech you Watch as we make our vows To join together as one Brother and Sister bound Great Spirit we beseech you Guide our Journeys as we go along Keep our moccasins on this road With our Souls forever in your light Great Spirit we beseech you Keep our spirits safe For today we become not two But one in our faith Brother I will gladly Draw the knife and make the cut To become one with you As Great Spirit guides me to do Blood Brother forever...........   Poem is an original copyrighted - Jan Tallevast 1997.
