Especially the "Oglala and Sans Arcs" my people.
This is a gate way to my Tribute to the Lakota. They are
my people. I am 1/8th Oglala and 1/8th Sans Arcs "Without the Bows".
To me it doesn't matter the degree of blood you have in you, but the degree
of Indian you have in your heart. This is the way I believe. My given name
is Janet Tallevast. My Native name is "
Horse Woman Her Spirit Runs Free"(links to my personal odyssey
page). This name became mine after I had a vision which I shared
with a Medicine Man. He then translated the vision for me and gave me my
name. This was 6 years ago. Today I study and try to live in the "Lakol
Wicohan" (Indian way). This isn't easy to do in the white
man's world and especially for a part-blood. This page is a dedication
to those of the People that have made a difference to the world and all
