Robert Jordan's Wheel Of Time - No Limits Casting Call!

Any Actor... Any Era!

Take A Look!
Thomdril "Thom" Merrilin Sir Alec Guinness

Thom Merrilin is another character that almost defies casting. You need someone who can play the gleeman, yet also portray a master of Daes D'aemar. Alec Guinness, best known as Obi-Wan Kenobi in the 'Star Wars' films, has played many roles, both serious and comic. He easily possesses the skills to properly portray Thom Merrilin.

Runner-Up: Sam Elliot
Birgitte Trahelion/Silverbow Julie Christie

To see why I made this choice, watch 'Dr. Zhivago', especially the part in the frozen manor house. Julie IS Birgitte!

Morgase Trakand Alison Doody

Best known as Dr. Elsa Schneider in 'Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade', Alison has the classic beauty of Morgase, plus the benefit of looking as if she's related to Grace Kelly, the choice for Elayne Trakand.

Gawyn Trakand Ewan McGregor

He is a head taller and a little older than Elayne . He has the same reddish gold hair and oval face as his sister

Galadedrid Damodred Billy Zane

Galad's a pretty-boy, but can kick some serious ass when necessary. A bit pompous..well, more than a bit... so Billy Zane (played Cal Hockley in 'Titanic', also played in 'The Phantom') is perfect for the role.

Runner-Up: Tyrone Power
Gareth Bryne Bily Connolly

Connolly, a Scottish comedian, has also played numerous dramatic roles. ('Mrs. Brown', 'Boondock Saints')
He fits the description of Bryne perfectly, so he gets the nod here.

Lord Davram Bashere Bob Hoskins

He'll have to grow a 'stache, start the Atkins diet & hit the gym, but otherwise Bob Hoskins ('Who Framed Roger Rabbit', 'Enemy At The Gates') is the best pick for Davram Bashere.

Runner Up: Brian Blessed
Zarine "Faile" t'Aybara Bashere Jordana Brewster

There were only two choices for Faile, and Ms. Brewster won out, because she could open a can of whoop-ass on the runner-up.

Runner Up: Ali MacGraw
Tuon Athaem Kore Paendrag
(Daughter of Nine Moons)
Rozonda "Chilli" Thomas

Tossup between Chilli, Tyra Banks, or Aaliyah. Saw 'Queen of the Damned', so Aaliyah's right out. Tyra Banks is just a little too "nice girl" for the role of Tuon. So, TLC's Chilli gets it!

Mazrim Taim Daniel Day-Lewis

No matter how good Day-Lewis was at bonking Hurons on the head with a tomahawk in 'Last of the Mohicans', he doesn't quite fit my idea of Lan Mandragoran as other casting sites have suggested.
He does have a ruthless side to his acting abiltiy, shown recently in 'Gangs of New York'. That ruthlessness would serve him well as Mazrim Taim.

Logain Ablar Oded Fehr

Fehr was fantastic as Ardeth Bey in the two 'Mummy' films recently. He does look a bit similar to Day-Lewis, and they could probably trade roles without anyone noticing.

Berelain sur Paendrag Jane Seymour

Forget 'Dr. Quinn, Medicine Woman'... we're getting the early 1970's Jane, from 'Live & Let Die' and numerous TV miniseries.
I saw this pic, had numerous impure thoughts, and eventually came (no pun intended) to the conclusion she'd be perfect as Berelain.
