Owned a small piece of land in Mississippi County, Arkansas Jake was a soft spoken, gentle man who was a good father and loved to farm. When the farm was lost after two consecutive bad cotton crops, the family moved to Elkhart, IN. Jake was never happy after that and began drinking. He was an alcolholic until he died. Jake drove a fork lift truck for a living in Indiana.
