What is FermCalc?

FermCalc is an online calculator that performs the following common winemaking calculations:

• Unit Conversions
• Sugar Requirements
• Acid Balancing
• Sulphite Additions
• Hydrometer Correction and Alcohol Content
• Blending Calculations

Running FermCalc

To run FermCalc, go to the Applet page. FermCalc runs as a Java Applet inside your browser window. To run FermCalc you must be have the following software installed:

1. A Java-Enabled Browser - Any of the following browsers will work:
   1. Microsoft Internet Explorer
   2. Firefox
   3. Opera
   4. Safari
2. The Java Plug-in - This is a free download available from the Sun Microsystems web site. If it's not already installed on your computer, you should be prompted to download and install it when you go to the Applet page. Or, you can download it by clicking on the button below.
