Cabaret Show: “Story Time”

I will be joining some very talented friends of mine Brenda Armstrong and Todd Hart in a new cabaret show called ‘Story Time… life lessons you didn’t learn in school’.  We will be presenting this as part of the ‘I Dream of Music’ concert series at East Dallas Christian Church on Friday September 7th at 7:30 PM.  I’m very excited about this show because I get to perform many of the duets and trios that I have always loved from ‘The Secret Garden’, ‘Closer than Ever’ and ‘Into the Woods’.  In addition, we will be performing with Piano, Violin and Cello.  You can find the play list HERE.

Now Available: “Love for Sale”

My new album with the Buddy Shanahan Trio is now available!.  Buddy Shanahan is a big name in Dallas in the Jazz circles and is joining forces with me on my second album project ‘Love for Sale’.  Buddy has come up with some really great jazz arrangements of many standards as well as some new Cabaret material.  You can purchase the album from this web site or at CDBaby or Amazon.com.

Cabaret Show: “Tom Grounds: Love for Sale”

I was at a cocktail party recently and made an interesting observation. Every aspect of love is present at a cocktail party. No, really - Try this - go to the bar and get your drink of choice and then slowly make your way through the crowd. While you are, you will catch snippets of conversations that give you a snapshot of where people are in their love life. If you are at a large enough party you can cover the entire spectrum.

Cabaret Artists Association

In January, we launched the Cabaret Artists Association of Texas.  We also launched it’s new web site www.cabtex.org.  Our goals are to develop new audiences, and constantly encourage the press to cover cabaret via reviews and articles. Modeled after MAC (Manhattan Association of Cabarets and Clubs), which virtually revitalized the Cabaret scene in New York City and the other Cabaret associations across the country we plan to grow our membership into a dynamic organization.
