SUMMER THEATER CLASSES For Children and Adolescent, 6-15 Monday- Friday from 9 a.m. to Noon This bilingual four-week course offers instruction in acting, theater crafts, costumes, make-up, sound, lights, as well as teaching voice and stage movement. The course culminates with a full production performed by the students for the enjoyment of family and friends. DAYS OF THE DEAD The Vampire Don Juan by José Zorrilla October 10th- November 2nd 2008 A Love, lust and bloody adaptation based on Don Juan Tenorio by playwright Zorrilla. In English and Spanish verse. Celebrate Days of the Dead as it has been celebrated in Mexico since the mid 1800’s. Follow our vampire Don Juan as he climbs cloisters seducing women and laughing at the law and the religious values of Victorian society. A classic piece not to be missed! Adapted and directed by Cora Cardona SPRING El Cantar del Mio Cid 12th Century, Anonymous February 20th- March 15th “El Cantar del Mio Cid” is the oldest preserved Spanish epic poem. Three passionate and exciting tales of love, betrayal, abduction and revenge resulting in the unification of Spain under the background of the Moorish empire that imprinted and shaped the language and the many cultures of Spain, especially that of the south. Este taller bilingüe de cuatro semanas ofrece clases de actuación, técnicas de voz y movimiento escénico. El curso culmina con una presentación para la diversión de la familia y amistades que incluye aprendizaje sobre utilería, vestuario, maquillaje, sonido e iluminación.La obra generalmente proviene de un país especiífico del cual se estudia su geografía, mitología, bailes y música. Tres apasionadas y emocionantes historias de amor, traición, rapto y venganza que dieron resultado a la unificación de España bajo fondo del imperio Moro que imprimió y formó la cultura e idioma de España, sobre todo la del sur.
