Finding proper headlamp upgrades for a Japanese car is extremely
difficult, especially with the "JDM" fad still abound. Every parts
importer you go to, you will not find European specification headlamps
for a Japanese car. They carry "JDM" ones however. The "JDM" headlamps
are unsafe to use for the North American roadway, since the beam
pattern is biased towards the left of the car. Traffic in Japan drives
on the "wrong" side of the road, therefore the "JDM" headlights were
designed to provide more light at their curbside of the road. The
result of using these lights on North American roads is blinding the
oncoming traffic (they will think you have your high beams on). The
only safe upgrade for Japanese cars here in North America are European
specification headlamps. Traffic in Europe (except Great Britain) drive
on the right side of the road (like we do), therefore the headlamps
used in their market are suitable for use here. More information about

has a list of part numbers for your Japanese car that you can use to
contact a parts importer and you can buy the parts brand new. If you
want to get used parts, good luck. The part numbers provided here are
provided under the consideration of the easiest "bolt on" upgrade
possible, which means no HID upgrades as it is cost prohibitive and
involve numerous electrical system upgrades. If you do not see your car
in the list then the reasons can be one of the following: 1) I do not
have the part numbers for your car, 2) your car uses sealed beam
headlamps which makes it SUPER easy for you to upgrade to any ECE
sealed beam replacement housing, 3) your car is not a "world car" and
only is sold in the North American market. All part numbers listed
comprise of the headlamp housing parts, light bulbs and sockets,
gromets, brackets, heat vents, etc. unless it is specificly noted
otherwise. They do NOT include the automatic/manual motorized leveling
system unless otherwise noted (again, due to ease of installation
purposes). Some additional part numbers maybe listed in addition to the
headlight housing part numbers. These are required parts in order for
complete installation and appearance.
This parts list is still MAJORLY under construction. It will be a
ongoing project that I don't think will end.
