Ratings and Qualifications

Airframe & Powerplant Technician (licensed for over 23 years)

Graduate of Spartan School of Aeronautics with an A&P Mechanics Certificate

and an Associates Degree.

Served as Director of Maintenance under FAR Part 141 Flight School with 16 aircraft.

Served as Director of Maintenance under FAR Part 135 with responsibilities for as many as 14 reciprocating engine aircraft that flew scheduled freight runs.

Spent many years at a major FAR Part 145 Certified Repair Station in Dallas, Texas as a jet Aircraft Maintenance Technician and subsequently as a Maintenance Crew Chief.

Performed duties as Director of Maintenance for corporate jet operators operating under FAR Part 91.

 

Airline Transport Pilot with 5 jet type ratings

First soloed in 1972 and subsequently earned my ratings up through commercial, multi-engine and instrument by the use of my toolbox and aviation maintenance experience.

Graduate of Mountain View College with Honors and an Associates Degree.

Flew the typical night freight missions in recip type aircraft under FAR Part 135.

 

Flew Citations, Falcon 20's, Diamond Jets and Lear Jets as a Corporate Pilot operating under FAR Part 91.

Flew Lear Jets and Falcons under FAR Part 135, flying Air Ambulance, Executive Passenger Charter, and on demand Air Cargo.

Have flown across the North Atlantic to Europe several times, and have flown throughout Canada, Mexico, and the Caribbean.

Simuflite and FlightSafety trained, and graduate from Mountain View College in Dallas, Texas.

For a hobby, I have flown all over the united States in an old 1946 Taylorcraft BC12-D.

Authorized Flight Instructor

I never really cared for this rating, except for the fact that many of my friends have had a hard time finding a competent Certified Flight Instructor with quality tailwheel experience for their Flight Reviews.

Since that was a requirement for another college degree, I felt that it would benefit somebody, so I got that rating. Fortunately, I never had to bounce around in C-150's to earn flight time. (lucky me, huh)
