Munger Place United Methodist Church was founded in 1913 and is located in old east Dallas at the corner of Bryan and Munger streets.  It has a thriving diverse congregation composed of an ethnically and economically mixed cross section of Dallas.  It is also home to The Wilkinson Center, a volunteer oriented community outreach center, as well as to ICE (Inter-Community Experience), a tutoring partnership with SMU and neighborhood children, and Mi Escuelita, a preschool serving low-income families.

PASTOR:
Brian McPherson was appointed to serve as pastor of MPUMC in June of 1998, Brian comes from a varied and diverse background of experiences which he brings into the ministry.  He was born in Gainesville, Texas in 1954 and has spent most of his life in the North Texas Conference.  He graduated from Texas A&M in 1976 with a Bachelor's Degree in English.  After working in the entertainment industry as a theatrical technician and musician, Brian attended seminary at Southern Methodist University's Perkins School of Theology.  Ordained Elder in 1992, Brian has served as an associate pastor at Axe Memorial UMC in Garland, and pastor of Bells UMC and Prosper UMC before moving to Munger Place.
Brian has been married to Cathy for five years and they have one son, Jeffrey Aaron born in March of this year.  Brian and Cathy are both avid divers and love to travel.

ASSISTANT PASTOR:
Stephanie Bekhor is the Assistant Pastor of Munger Place UMC as well as a seminary student at the Perkins School of Theology at SMU.  She enjoys working with youth, singing in the choir and being part of the warm church family of Munger Place.  Stephanie also likes visiting family in Virginia, hiking in the purple tipped mountains of Arizona and getting to know more people and places in Dallas, her new home as of August, 1996.
