Bill Evans Trio: Sunday at the Village Vanguard, 1961

This is a great collection of the sweet, unobtrusive jazz that Bill Evans does so well. But the most outstanding thing about this album is Scott LeFaro's amazing bass playing, and is worth having for the bass solos alone. Alas, this was his last recording, but he shines throughout, and so his notes live on. There is a little audience noise on this album, but it isn't nearly as annoying as the loud talking and clanking of dishes on Evans's Waltz for Debby.
