In April of 1999, Sue was tending to her trade show in Orlando. Work, work, work. But the Palmer family had a plan. After Sue's trade show was over and the last crate of unused novelties was hauled away, Sue met Scott and Alison at the Orlando airport for a few days of Disney fun!
Not only were the Texas Palmers together in Orlando, but grandparents Roger and Freida joined us there from Destin, Florida too! After a relaxing evening in the timeshare condo the grandparents had arranged for, it was time for Disney fun.
The next day it was off to Disney World's Magic Kingdom theme park. We saw "It's a Small World", rode some rides, including the teacups and the Dumbo ride, saw a parade, and even had dinner at Cinderella's castle! Alison met Mickey, Minnie, Pluto, Goofy and Pinochio. At the end of the evening, we saw a fabulous fireworks display, featuring Tinkerbell flying from the castle. What a fun day!
The next day (while Roger and Freida recouperated from trying to keep up with a 3 year old), we went to Disney's Animal Kingdom park. We saw lots of animals on our thrilling safari ride, took a train ride to a petting zoo area, and saw another parade! We even waited a long time to see Winnie the Poo, Tigger and Eyore, but Poo got a "rumbly in his tumbly" just as we got to the front of the line. (Don't get Sue started on that one!) Before we left for the day, we saw a wonderful Lion King show with acrobats and singing and dancing.
The next day, we said goodbye to Roger and Freida and hello to Sue's friend, Carol. We spent the next two days relaxing with her and her husband, Mike. Just before we left, we went to Gatorland and saw more aligators than any of us care to see ever again!
Our Disney adventure was lots of fun for everyone (most of the time). Maybe in a couple of years when Sue's show is back in Orlando, we can see the rest of the parks that we ran out of time to get to this time!
