EX-CEL Campus Activities will hold its "Last Blast," the organization's final event of the semester, from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. today on the Central Library mall.
The alternative rock band "The Big Pink Wow" will perform from noon to 1 p.m., and ARAMARK will provide burgers. The organization will also have a free karaoke machine where students can sing and make their own music videos. Students can tie-dye T-shirts for $5. Big Brothers Big Sisters of Arlington will have a water balloon-tossing contest.
Kris Fitz, director of campus and community service for EX-CEL, said her committee planned the event to relieve end-of-the-semester angst.
"Relieving the stress is where the community service kicks in," she said. "This party should be awesome with a lot of fun stuff to do."
Fitz said the organization has "Last Blast" at the end of every semester, and attendance is good.
"Last semester we sold 320 meals during the event," she said. "We think we'll have at least that many this semester."
 Proceeds will fund the event.
EX-CEL usually has toys for students' and faculties' children to play with, she said. Fitz said more students than children played with the toys last year.
"We're going to get some bubble wands and Hula-Hoops for the adults, too," she said. "I think the adults will Hula-Hoop to the music."
Scott Blackwell, Greek life assistant director, said the event should be great.
"We want to finish on a high note and a fun day before students crack the books in exam preparation," he said.
Kent Gardner, senior associate vice president of student affairs and dean of students, said he plans to attend the event.
"This is a good activity for students to participate in at the end of the semester to help them relax and get ready for finals."
